Private Sourcing & Value Chain Development- Hemp & Coffee

Hemp:

Our supply chain for biomass extends from seed to truck in California, Washington and Oregon. The material is combine harvested and stem-separated, with a uniquely stringent SOP emphasizing potency testing for homogeneity. Combining both a full-term and auto-flower grow strategy provides for an emphasis on consistent rotation of fresh crop material with multiple harvests per year. The net result of fresh crop material that's stem-separated and homogeneously blended equates to highly impressive run data as the labs within our network would collectively attest.

A strategic logistics SOP utilizing both ground freight and rail, in combination with large scale processed and field-dried material offers to curb the costs traditionally associated with transporting hemp from coast-to coast. In short, the cost of drying biomass anywhere east of the Mississippi, has proven to be significantly more expensive, despite the lower costs of shipping for labs/processors  on the east coast with closer proximity. For this reason, we have partnered with large scale (big AG) growers that have leveraged highly scalable land-lease agreements in conjunction with unrestricted water rights.

Resinoid Oils:

Principally used in varnishes, lacquers, adhesives, inks, perfumes, plastics and pharmaceuticals; some resinoids are chemically modified. Our free-flowing resinoid oils are not chemically modified and have thus retained the fragrant components and essential oils conducive with the purity of a naturally processed plant-based product, making them optimal for perfumes, aromatherapy, topicals, and pharmaceuticals. Produced according to CGMP compliant standards, our resinoid oils are among the cleanest in the industry with unparalleled reductions in fats, lipids and sugars.  Derived from organically grown plant-based oils and gums, softer odoriferous oleo-resins are composed of a complex range of volatile and non-volatile compounds. Control over the supply chain,  a transparent software-based chain of custody and full-panel batch testing assure the highest standards of consistency and product integrity.

Coffee:

Whether it's a customized private tour of coffee farms for research and education or the securing of a specific coffee to meet the demands of larger-scale purchasers, our network extends globally throughout four continents. Additionally, we develop customized blends, single-origin selections and roast profiles (a roasters recipe) commensurate with a compelling and customized storyline. A wide range of coffees are regularly imported and roasted through our subsidiary company The Coffee Roasters Alliance, with tours and cuppings available in Boulder, Brooklyn, Orlando and Las Vegas.  Imported green coffees can either be shipped via air or sea, depending on the size and nature of the order.

A value-added supply chain is often the best route toward quality assurance, exclusivity, consistency and ownership of an authentic storyline. We offer customized programs that start with a selection of unique and distinctive coffees from a wide range of lots and farms both large and small. Cherries can be custom processed according to the desired taste and structure of the coffee (ex. naturals, honeys, anaerobic, washed, etc.), thereby allowing our clients the ability to consolidate a wide range of cup characteristics from a select few sources. Depending on the size and nature of shipments, coffees can be stored in parchment at origin or milled and shipped green all at once. Upon arrival into the country of consumption, we provide assistance with manufacturing (roasting, grinding, packaging, etc.) and distribution through commercial foodservice affiliates.

Combining Coffee & Hemp:

One of our most exciting projects is that which established the overall premise of Chase Projects, our initiatives in Central America. We are the first company to have received a permit from the country of El Salvador to import U.S genetics and planted seeds on the country's first CBD hemp farm in conjunction with the University of El Salvador. This program is designed to focus on hemp that is grown by coffee farms in coffee cooperatives throughout the country.

Media:

As supply chains are developed, the opportunity exists to develop a rich and compelling storyline. Chase Projects has extensive experience in broadcast media production.  Chasing Coffee is a television series filmed in thirteen different countries where coffee is either consumed or produced. The series was produced and hosted by Joey Chase for Lonely Planet and will air in 2020 internationally. For more information on media and related projects, visit: joeychase.com
